Julula

Privacy notice

Last updated 9 October 2026.

This is a draft. A South African privacy (POPIA) consultant still has to check it. It covers only the early-access list on this page. Julula the app, which needs an invitation to use, will get its own privacy notice before anyone can sign up to it.

Who we are

Julula is built by two brothers in South Africa. You can reach us at contact@julula.com about anything on this page.

What we keep when you join the early-access list

  • Your email address, as you typed it.
  • Whether you ticked "Also email me news about Julula Plus and new features".
  • The date and time you confirmed, so we have a record of what you agreed to.

That's all. We don't ask for your name, your phone number or anything about your money, and the form sets no tracking cookies.

Why we keep it

To email you when you can join Julula, and — only if you ticked the box — news about Julula Plus and new features. We don't use it for anything else. We don't sell your details and we don't share them with anyone for their own purposes.

Confirming your address

After you send the form we email you a link. Nothing goes on the list until you open that link, so nobody can add your address but you. The link stops working after seven days. If you never open it, nothing is kept.

Who else handles it

  • Cloudflare serves this website and checks that the form was sent by a person and not a program. Cloudflare sees the usual request details, including your IP address.
  • Resend keeps the list and sends the emails.

Both are companies outside South Africa, so your email address is stored and processed outside the country, mostly in the United States and Europe. Both are bound by their own agreements with us to process it only on our instructions.

How long we keep it

Until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it, or until the early-access period is over and we no longer need the list.

Unsubscribing, and asking us to delete your details

Every email we send has an unsubscribe link, and you can choose to stop the Julula Plus news while still hearing about early access. You can also email contact@julula.com at any time and ask us to unsubscribe you, to tell you what we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. We'll do it and reply to say so.

South African law (POPIA) also lets you complain to the Information Regulator if you think we've handled your details wrongly.

Changes to this notice

If we change what we do with your details, we'll update this page and change the date at the top.
